Newcastle Bag Bigirimana

As exclusively revealed by skysports.com, Bigirimana underwent amedical at St James' Park on Friday after Newcastle agreed a fee with Coventry for the midfielder's signature.

Coventry were reluctant to lose Bigirimana, but they could not stand in his way due to their financial problems and their relegation from the Championship last season.

Bigirimana caught the eye at Coventry last season and he was named as the Championship's Apprentice of the Year award for 2012.

The 18-year-old has been tipped for a big future and Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has moved quickly to fend off interest from other clubs to lure him Tyneside.

Burundi-born Bigirimana becomes Newcastle second signing of the summer following the arrival of Romain Amalfitano.

Silva Set For New City


Silva, who recently helped Spain to a third consecutive major tournament success at Euro 2012, still has two years to run on his current deal but reports suggest he will sign a new five-year contract worth £52million.

The 26-year-old playmaker, who joined City from Valencia in 2010, has declared himself "totally satisfied" at the club after playing a starring role in their Premier League winning campaign last season.

His exploits reportedly caught the eye of Primera Liga giants Real but Silva is adamant he is not thinking of a move.

The Spaniard, who was the top assist scorer in the top-flight last term with 15, expects a new deal to be wrapped up sooner rather than later.

Full-time Role Lewington

The 55-year-old worked alongside Roy Hodgson during the recent Euro 2012 campaign, and will continue to work in the national set-up after signing a four-year contract.

The move ends a long association with Fulham for Lewington, who had two spells as a player at Craven Cottage before managing the club in the late 1980s.

Lewington later performed a variety of roles in the Fulham backroom, including brief stints as caretaker manager.

"I'm delighted to be joining Roy's England coaching staff permanently" Lewington told the FA website.

"I really enjoyed the experience at the Euros this summer and am looking forward to spending more time with the squad as we look to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil.

"Being offered a full-time position with England alongside Roy Hodgson is a fantastic opportunity for me and one that I simply couldn't turn down.

Brighton Complete Bridge Loan

The England international left-back spent the latter part of 2011/12 on loan at Sunderland, where he made 10 appearances, having played just once for City in the Carling Cup.

The 31-year-old former Chelsea and Southampton player has been mostly surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium over the last two years, following the arrivals of Aleksandar Kolarov and Gael Clichy.

Gus Poyet had made bringing in a left-back one of his priorities this summer, and he sees luring Bridge to the Amex Stadium as a major coup for the Seagulls.

HORNET COMFIRM DYCHE EXIT!

Fryers' contract expired earlier this summer and United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admitted earlier this week he was in the dark over the player's future

The 19-year-old, who has come through the youth ranks at United, made six first-team appearances for the Red Devils last season, making his full debut in the Carling Cup win over Leeds.

Tottenham are thought to be long-term admirers of Fryers with his versatility in being able to play left-back or centre-back making him an attractive proposition.

New Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has given the go-ahead to push through the move and Fryers is expected to become the latest new face at White Hart Lane.

Fryers is believed to have agreed a four-year deal at Tottenham and is expected to finalise the move inthe next few days.
